For National Poetry Month, Join Cristina Trapani-Scott for a hybrid workshop on the turn, the point where the poem becomes something unexpected. Join us in person or via Zoom to write poems that begin in one place and with image and line and end somewhere unexpected. Poems that turn can can deal with earth-changing phenomena or small life events, but either way they can lead to powerful reflection. We will explore how and why a poem might change direction, as well what exactly signifies a turn.

Cristina Trapani-Scott writes fiction and poetry and the occasional food review. She’s the author of the poetry chapbook The Persistence of a Bathing Suit (Finishing Line Press) and is a graduate of the Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing at Spalding University.
